In November 2024, ArenaPetro, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ArenaPetro) participated in the public bidding for four strings of 260℃ digital acoustic logging tools from the largest national logging company in China. After multiple rounds of expert evaluation, ArenaPetro received the highest score and successfully won the bid in the comprehensive evaluation of technology and business.
With the continuous deepening of oil and gas extraction, deep/ultra deep oil and gas resources have become the main direction of domestic oil and gas development. The design depth of ultra deep wells exceeds 10000 meters, and the temperature and pressure at the bottom of the well can reach 230℃+and 175 MPa+, requiring extremely high temperature and pressure specifications for logging tools. To meet the demand of oilfield customers for high-end logging tools with ultra-high temperature and high pressure, ArenaPetro has carried out key technological breakthroughs such as ultra-high temperature and high-pressure sensors, low-power and highly integrated circuits, ultra deep well processing methods, and developed a digital acoustic logging tool with a specification of 260℃/210MPa.
The 260℃ digital acoustic logging tool adopts a dual-mode design scheme, compatible with cable and storage direct push modes, and can perform acoustic velocity measurement in open hole wells as well as acoustic VDL/CBL in cased hole wells. The tool overcomes the influence of high temperature and high pressure on the response of the transducer, including the effects of temperature and pressure on the transmission power and reception sensitivity of the transducer. In open hole wells, time difference compensation can be performed to reduce the impact of tool tilt and eccentricity on measurement results, as well as to minimize the influence of wellbore changes, wellbore diameter changes, and other factors on acoustic velocity measurement results. In casing wells, using four sound amplitude curves to attenuate instead of the original single shot dual receiver measurement can eliminate the influence of temperature, pressure, and mud density on the transducer, reduce the impact of temperature and pressure on sound wave amplitude, and also eliminate the influence of tool eccentricity.
Since 2020, ArenaPetro has been developing logging systems with a temperature of 200℃/230℃, including: 200℃ high-speed telemetry tool, 200℃ digital acoustic logging tool, 200℃ ultrasonic imaging logging tool, 200℃ lateral logging tool, 200℃ downhole multi parameter logging tool, etc. The successful bidding of this project marks a milestone for ArenaPetro's ultra-high temperature and ultra-high pressure logging system to meet the logging requirements of 13000 meters deep wells (260℃ /210MPa); And the main technical solutions and production processes can continue to be used or optimized for use on 300℃ temperature resistant logging tools. With the continuous improvement and enhancement of our MCM1500 data transmission system and AXP 1AE surface system, we have achieved a high-temperature and high-pressure wireline imaging logging platform that is suitable for a well depth of 13000+ meters, 230℃ /260℃, and 170MPa/210MPa working environment, meeting a series of application scenarios such as oil and gas exploration, scientific investigation, geothermal, and hot springs.
In the new year, ArenaPetro will continue to work hard to develop new products, technologies, and processes to better serve domestic and abroad oilfield customers, and make greater contributions to the exploration and development of 10000+ meters deep wells at domestic and abroad market.
